Original Georgia Landscape Oil Painting "Blue Heron Nature Preserve" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

The idea for "Blue Heron Nature Preserve" , a small oil landscape painting of on canvas came from a plein air outing this summer. Blue Heron Nature Preserve is tucked back in a wooded area on the way to Buckhead, an area outside the city of Atlanta, Georgia. While in this beautiful location, I had focused my attention on the colors in the water's reflections! After getting the basic shapes down while there, the painting was completed here in my studio. I feel that I captured the mood of the scene accurately!

Paintings of Italy, Italian Cityscape, Figurative Watercolor "Camaraderie" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Camaraderie is about relationship between old friends in Italy. Spending the afternoon beneath the trees, watching passersby is not often enjoyed by most U.S. citizens. Because I was charmed by witnessed these men's sharing of their time, I wanted to record the moment in a watercolor painting.

Original Female Figurative Oil Painting "White Linen" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Who can resist the allure of white linen fabric! Linen has been traditionally used to make bedding, bath, and lightweight undergarments. The warm natural light falls across the front of her body onto the bed linens and pillows. When viewing this oil painting try to imagine what the woman must be thinking as she rests on the beautiful iron bed.

Italian Landscape Painting, Red Doorway Italy, "A Brisk Walk" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Sometimes I envy the Italian lifestyle as opposed to the sedentary lifestyle of some United States residents! While in Europe, I tend to have more energy and I feel that it must come from the fact that I walk everywhere when visiting! Still Life Floral Oil Painting ,Black Eyed Susans "Count on Me" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

"Count On Me" is a floral still life oil painting of black eyed susans, a yellow perennial which gives beautiful color to the driveway entry of our home. I count on being able to enjoy looking at the warm yellow and green mass through the front windows in late summer!  Black Eyed Susans reseed themselves so be careful where you plant them! I especially like the look of them in a pottery vase on my kitchen table!

North Carolina Landscape Oil Painting "Midday In Ironduff" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Photographing the scenery along country roads is always scheduled in my itinerary when traveling to my home state of North Carolina! There are rustic and romantic vistas, charming homesites , and farm animals in the fields! Even the two lane roads have a charming way of winding through the countryside! As  I travel around Atlanta, I pretty much see 7 or more lanes of traffic as I go about my day! "Midday In Ironduff" , an oil landscape painting describes my response to this countryside residence situated on a huge tract of farmland. Can you just see the owners of the property climbing the hill for a home grown supper!

Bird Nest Still Life Oil Painting "Left Behind" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

FRESH OFF THE EASEL...

When sweet little birds leave their nests in late spring/early summer there may be a treasure later found after the foliage disappears! So it happened that my husband found this nest with a little something left behind! Hence, the title, "Left Behind" of my latest still life oil painting of this bird's nest! It is a marvel that the birds are able to weave their little sticks and scraps into the perfect little basket shaped objects to hold their babies!
