The most visited museums of the world, Musee Du Louve houses a huge collection of sculpture and paintings! A central landmark of Paris, France, it is located at the Right Bank of the Seine. It is from the left bank of the River Seine where I most enjoyed the view of Musee Du Louve! Photographs of my trips to Paris inspired the oil landscape painting simply titled "Musee Du Louve". When planning your trip to Paris allow several ours for your visit there!

Tuscan Skies are much like our Georgia skies but with a view like no other! Villa Fontelunga is a dream of a place to spend afternoons at the end of a day trip to Florence, Italy! I choose this particular view of the Tuscan landscape overlooking the cabana where we spent several evenings by the crackling fire, enjoying comraderie and delicious Italian wines.

Outside my studio windows the late afternoon light comes from the west. Atlanta happened to have a rare occurrence of a snowfall which was wooing me into the studio! A good friend gave us a tray of French chocolates which inspired this still life painting of the beautifully packaged chocolates and coffee! What a delicious afternoon snack for me while working in my studio. "French Chocolates" is a mixed media painting done with graphite, pen, and watercolor. The painting is custom double matted with high quality white archival mat board , backed with foam core, and  ready for framing. The tonal quality of the painting makes it an excellent choice for any interior! A grouping of these small mixed medA good friend gave us beautiful French chocolates. The packaging and sweetness of the gift inspired me to paint this stilllife painting of the  subject which made an impressive display !!

As an artist, I am always looking for contrast; shadows give me what I am looking for! In addition to loving this old structure, the play of light is a painters dream! The inspiration for "Morning Shadows" came from childhood experiences such as playing in the midst of a huge field of grass, lying on the ground making images out of clouds, and trees awash with color in the autumn of the year. Marty Robbins had a huge hit song in 1957 titled "A White Sport Coat". The popular hit record came to mind while I was painting these lovely little carnations! Marty sang about a white sport coat and a pink carnation; I am humming this song in my mind as I write! "Pink Carnation" is an oil floral still life painting done from life in my studio. Having always been one of my favorite flowers, don't you agree that these compact bloomers smell just so sweet!!!

"Counterbalance" Original Still Life Floral Painting, Calla Lilly, by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

                             

When I created the still life of calla lilies in my art studio, I was pleased with the arrangement of the lilies but knew I had to have some feature in the acrylic painting to counterbalance the natural orientation of flowers whose stem is unable to hold them upright! The yellow satin ribbon adds to the playfulness of the arrangement!
