While perusing an outdoor flea market I saw Margaret trying on hats. I was so intrigued by her character that I asked if I could photograph her there! The photographs taken there in the antique market resulted in this figurative watercolor painting of a beautiful countenance! Margaret was gracious and I learned that Margaret is a librarian. Isn't she a beautiful subject for a portrait!!!

While riding on the streets of Rome, Italy, I spotted the blazing color of the tree , and the colorful flag flying outside what may have been a bedroom window. This is the way many Roman city residents have their being. Something makes me think that inside these walls there is celebration, laughter, and good food to be enjoyed! The inspiration for "Morning Shadows" came from childhood experiences such as playing in the midst of a huge field of grass, lying on the ground making images out of clouds, and trees awash with color in the autumn of the year.

Tuscan Skies are much like our Georgia skies but with a view like no other! Villa Fontelunga is a dream of a place to spend afternoons at the end of a day trip to Florence, Italy! I choose this particular view of the Tuscan landscape overlooking the cabana where we spent several evenings by the crackling fire, enjoying camaraderie and delicious Italian wines.

Many years ago on my first visit to Paris, France my husband and I enjoyed the instrumental sounds of this small symphony while shopping at an upscale area of the city. The treasure that came from this shopping excursion was this experience. I have painted in the medium of watercolor, my version of the experience for your enjoyment. As in many of my paintings, "Sidewalk Symphony" is about pattern of light and the gestures of the musicians.

The lighting and shadows are beautiful there both morning and evening as they fall across the outbuildings there. What a joy it was to paint start this painting in such a beautiful place not too far from my home!

Here are two contented cows and one who feels a little ignored! "Feeling Left Out" is a framed landscape oil painting on canvas of one of my most favorite animals, the cow! Having had a cow named Bessie as a child whose milk I drank at almost every meal was true country living! Milk and Cornbread was a staple at my dinner table in beautiful Western North Carolina! As my Dad used to say, "This is God's Country"! Although a city girl now with some city ways, the country does come out on occasion, especially in what I choose to paint for you!
