Retro, Vintage Figurative Art Painting "50's Chick 4" by Deanna Jaugstetter

Summer has been great, a combination of commissions, new collection, taking time to lunch with friends, a weekend trip to Chattanooga with my husband, and a visit with my daughter and son in law. A balanced life gave me time for new ideas time to simmer in my mind! I woke up in the middle of the night a couple of months ago and began to think about fashionable apron designs worn in the 1950’s by the adult women in my family. My kitchen drawer contains some of these designs! I, too, often wear a special apron while preparing food for entertaining our friends at home.

As a teenager, I loved to spend spare time drawing women in fashionable clothing. After high school I received an Associate Degree in Fashion and Design from FIA, Atlanta, Ga. Location. 1950’s style for women’s clothing is one of my favorites for women’s fashion, fitted bodices, nipped in waist and full skirts or slim skirts, feminine! TV sitcoms featured stylish Moms in aprons worn to protect their beautiful dresses. Prior study of fashion and design inspired my newest painting collection, 50’s CHICKS! Get ready, this is a fun, new look for my work, giving you a peek into my personality as an artist. I have always enjoyed experimenting with subject matter in my paintings that convey my personal interests. I like variety in life and in work! How about you? Here are the newly created 50’s CHICKS for your viewing! I welcome your input, and would love to hear from you!
