As I worked on this piece, my main concern was getting the effect of the light as I envisioned it. "The Promise" , an acrylic abstract painting is thus titled because the painting is full of hope.

It is not necessary to say everything about the subject matter in a painting. This is the approach I have taken to the seascape oil painting titled, "Marsh Grasses". The water weaves it's way in and out of the canvas and I love the shades of cool blues in the water!

"Water Grasses" " is an oil  maritime/seascape painting which has evolved over a two year period. It has taken me a little while to capture the mood of this scene in the South Carolina low country marshland. Now that the painting is complete I feel that it captures why I first loved the subject and time of day!
