As I was painting these beautiful tulips from life, each painting session would bring a new challenge. The tulips kept changing their direction and finally a few tulips in the front of the vase wanted to be out front, claiming all the attention. I was able to finish the painting, adjusting to the turn of the leaves and dancing of the tulip bulbs into their favored positions. The next time I paint these gorgeous blooms I will remember that tulips, like me, have a mind of their own!

Both Doe and Buck are often seen in our wooded back yard. If they catch movement inside, they vanish but it is exciting to see them however briefly! The doe is the most elegant and careful to stay in sight of her offspring! While painting these beautiful creatures, I get rather hyper focused and have to remind myself to walk a way for a bit.

The initial shapes and colors suggested what this painting was to be about. I let my recollection of former paintings lead the way. I love the drizzle of the last raindrops squeezed from the puffy clouds on the horizon. I titled this mixed media abstract landscape, "Georgia Rain".
My favorite time to view the Eiffel Tower is at night! A group of us tourists were walking back from a delicious dinner in Paris when I photographed this spectacular display of light from The Eiffel falling over the buildings and the street below. I remembered it like this!

A familiar scene in Paris is one of the many beautiful bridges that cross the Seine River. There is a beautiful view of wonderful architecture, boats coming and going, and the people of Paris from each bridge.
"The Savannah" is a landscape oil painting of the Savannah River. The Savannah River is a major river in the southeastern United States, forming most of the border between the states of South Carolina and Georgia. My photographic reference for the painting is looking from the river bank towards South Carolina. I feel the variations of blue in the river water in the painting give the impression that the water is moving . Custom framed
There is a beautiful lake house where I have vacationed that has a large deck under the trees that frame this view across the lake.
The pattern of light on the trees leading down to the water grabbed my attention and said, "Paint Me!", so glad I did~
When visiting Paris I always enjoy a long walk through The Tuileries Garden. The Tuileries Garden is a public garden located between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, France. There is so much I want to say with my paint brush about the city of Paris. My paintings allow me to experience being back there.
