I will forever remember standing in the garden at Giverny imagining where Claude Monet stood painting this same scene. "My Monet", an oil landscape painting of the gardens of the French Impressionist is seen through my eyes.
I have incorporated thicker areas of paint with a palette knife.

FRESH OFF THE EASEL...

Cherished X, a watercolor wildlife painting of a desserted birds nest which was built in my front door wreath a couple of months ago. It is a joy to be able to see a nest being built, see the tiny eggs ( requires a little effort from behind the glass indoors), see the tiny beaks in the air waiting to be fed, and then the beautiful little creatures fly away! Unfortunately, I haven't yet witnessed the exit from the nest. I just have to trust they are enjoying their flight and being well fed!

I just retrieved a small nest after enjoying the cycle of birth in my front door wreath! Funny, how one never gets to see the babies leave the nest.

Bovine, Cow Art Painting "Butterball" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Cows are so interesting and it's just too bad that they can't talk! I'll bet they could tell us a thing or two! Growing up we had a milk cow named Butterball who would sometimes get a little testy when my Mom milked her! We named her Butterball appropriately because her milk eventually became butter from Mom's old timey churn. I still have the churn!

I must admit when I went near Butterball, I was intimidated! My bovine oil painting  titled "Butterball"of this assertive cow in the North Carolina landscape gave me an opportunity to reminisce about days gone by as I worked on the painting!

On a recent visit, I stepped onto a dock taking in the view of boats and their reflections on the water.

"A View of Hope" is a boat/water landscape painting seen through my eyes at that moment.

I used a brush and palette knife to create texture in this painting.

Maritime Painting With Fishing Boat Dock Water "Gay Fish Company II" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

I have visited The Gay Fish Company to purchase their delicious fresh catch on several occasions. I have also photographed the shrimp boats more than once for reference for paintings of this quaint seaside dock. Not to mention that scenes from the famous movie, " Forest Gump" were filmed there at the end of the boat dock. 
The silvery sky and curving dock were an inspiration for the painting!
