A friend gave me this fabulously constructed bird's nest for my birds nest collection! The careful arrangement of bits and pieces of twigs, leaves, and vines are intriguing to me! While painting this 36 x 36, oil stilllife of "Nature's Architect", I joyfully thought of the precious bird that prepared such a beautiful home for her babies! "Nature's Architect" is framed in a custom designed, "Deanna Frame" with an overall size of 44 x 44!

Beach House Painting, Yellow Cottage "Tybee Island Cottage II" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

On a visit to Tybee Island, Georgia in late spring of 2014, I was inspired to paint a charming yellow cottage.

I titled the oil painting "Tybee Island Cottage II".

 Imagine my surprise after getting my mail recently! There on the front cover of the November issue of Coastal Living is the same cottage that I had painted a couple of months earlier!

The six page feature of the cottages cozy interior gave the name of the property owner.

The most visited museums of the world, Musee Du Louve houses a huge collection of sculpture and paintings! A central landmark of Paris, France, it is located at the Right Bank of the Seine. It is from the left bank of the River Seine where I most enjoyed the view of Musee Du Louve! Photographs of my trips to Paris inspired the oil landscape painting simply titled "Musee Du Louve". When planning your trip to Paris allow several ours for your visit there!

While I love the city life, when choosing subject matter for my paintings, I return to my roots! I absolutely love to paint cows! Our family had a milk cow when I was a small child. I enjoyed the smooth cold drink at every meal. I, however, never learned to love buttermilk! "Daisy" is a domestic animal oil painting of a calf who was born on a farm in South Carolina. I fell in love with her at first site! I look forward to possibly painting her again!

Marty Robbins had a huge hit song in 1957 titled "A White Sport Coat". The popular hit record came to mind while I was painting these lovely little carnations! Marty sang about a white sport coat and a pink carnation; I am humming this song in my mind as I write! "Pink Carnation" is an oil floral still life painting done from life in my studio. Having always been one of my favorite flowers, don't you agree that these compact bloomers smell just so sweet!!!
