Still Life Hydrangea Flower Oil Painting "May Flowers" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

What better to do on gray, wintery days than to paint flowers! Recalling the assortment of hydrangea in my own garden each May, I mixed up some colorful ingredients to create "May Flowers", a still life oil painting on gallery wrapped canvas! My husband has given me fresh flowers for Valentines Day so look for more flower paintings soon! What are some of the ideas you use to add color to your days?

Sometimes I envy the Italian lifestyle as opposed to the sedentary lifestyle of some United States residents! While in Europe, I tend to have more energy and I feel that it must come from the fact that I walk everywhere when visiting! "

Bruges Canal III is inspired by recent photos taken in this beautiful city of Bruges, Belgium! While visiting Lille, France we always drive to the city of Bruges which is a short distance by car from the city of Lille, France. It is a beautiful city with medieval overtones where canals linked the city to the sea. This still life painting done with graphite, pen, and watercolor.
