"French Chocolates" , a small still life oil painting is inspired by the robust flavors of fine chocolate and a bold coffee!
Paintings of food are wonderful when placed on a kitchen countertop or tucked into a bookcase!
I grew up with a love for birds! Filling up the birdfeeder, watching them come and go from the birdfeeder and birdhouses, running to get my camera, are everyday activities! "Singing the Blues" is a wildlife oil painting of the Eastern Blue Bird often seen in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
It's that time of year again when painting "en plein air" is so enjoyable! A recent plein air outing gave me the opportunity to capture this fly fisherman at the Chattahoochee River. "Chattahoochee Fly Fishing" is a figure in landscape oil painting.
While I love the city life, when choosing subject matter for my paintings, I return to my roots! I absolutely love to paint cows! Our family had a milk cow when I was a small child. I enjoyed the smooth cold drink at every meal. I, however, never learned to love buttermilk! "Daisy" is a domestic animal oil painting of a calf who was born on a farm in South Carolina. I fell in love with her at first site! I look forward to possibly painting her again!
"Can't Wait To Be There" is a landscape oil painting of a farm in Western North Carolina. I had the privilege of painting there with a group of plein air artists in June, 2015. I found just the right spot to view the subject and had my easel set up early morning. The painting was completed in my studio with the aid of photographs taken on site.
Having a background in interior design, the way the light falls on objects in a space always draws my attention. The lamplight reflected off the tabletop, flowers, and tray inspired this interior oil painting titled "I'll Leave The Light On". A comfortable chair, flowers from a friend, these bring good thoughts!
