While riding on the streets of Rome, Italy, I spotted the blazing color of the tree , and the colorful flag flying outside what may have been a bedroom window. This is the way many Roman city residents have their being. Something makes me think that inside these walls there is celebration, laughter, and good food to be enjoyed! What story do you hear being told in this watercolor painting?
FRESH OFF THE EASEL... Each year I spend time on a subject matter not visited in awhile. It has taken me awhile to resolve what I wanted to express in "Femininity". My inspiration is a photo I took about 3 years ago during a live model session. This painting is done in oil with brush and palette knife.
When there is a knock at the door, you open it, and these appear you are surprised and delighted! Of course, they appear at sad times, also. Flowers are a symbol of love and they lift our spirits! Special Delivery is a floral watercolor on archival paper that is intended to do just that!
Who can resist the allure of white linen fabric! Linen has been traditionally used to make bedding, bath, and lightweight undergarments. The warm natural light falls across the front of her body onto the bed linens and pillows. When viewing this oil painting try to imagine what the woman must be thinking as she rests on the beautiful iron bed.
I once heard that in order to convey confidence in life "you gotta have attitude".
I believe the young woman in this oil painting is someone I would like to spend more time with!
Don't you love the color green I used for the chair! Even the chair has attitude!
Charm and Grace are desirable qualities in the female. While some men prefer a gutsy, modern type woman, it is my feeling when a woman with gentle qualities enters a room, men take notice. Mind you these coveted qualities are present in men as well! My oil painting is a depiction of what charm and grace might look like!
Bruges Canal III is inspired by recent photos taken in this beautiful city of Bruges, Belgium! While visiting Lille, France we always drive to the city of Bruges which is a short distance by car from the city of Lille, France. It is a beautiful city with medieval overtones where canals linked the city to the sea. This still life painting done with graphite, pen, and watercolor. The painting is custom double matted with high quality white archival mat board , backed with foam core, and ready for framing. The tonal quality of the painting makes it an excellent choice for any interior! A grouping of these small mixed media subject make an impressive display !
