"Struttin Around The Hen House" is an oil painting inspired by my photographs of the chicken coup in an area where my daughter lives. The chickens have been built a great looking hen house to live in! You can see their coup in the watercolor painting titled "Busy Bodies" on this site. The oil painting is painted around the gallery wrapped sides so it isn't necessary to add a frame. Deanna's Custom Designed frames are available for purchase if you wish to add a beautiful frame to the painting!
Lindenberg Lake is a studio painting completed from sketches and photographs I took while in Highlands, North Carolina. The rhododendron draping the pond's banks and waterlilies floating on the lake were what drew me in! Having been brought up in this area of North Carolina and with first hand experience with a scene so familiar, this landscape oil painting was such a joy to create.
While on a recent cruise, we were privilege to a private chefs dinner. The several course meal was prepared within view of our elegantly appointed dinner table! One of the highlights of our Paris to Normandy cruise was enjoying this delicious meal by wonderful chefs!
A vase of roses of one color are lovely but a kaleidoscope of roses of beautiful colors is amazing! FRESH OFF THE EASEL... The sangiovese grape makes the most delicious Chianti wines. The work that goes into creating the grape vineyards and the harvesting of the grapes is definitely a labor of love. What I enjoy is tasting the wine after it is aged to perfection. On a recent trip to Toscana, Italy, I was inspired by the twisted vines and deep purple richness of the fruit on the vine. The painting is finished on the gallery wrapped edge so no need for a frame. Minimum shipping will apply. 8"x8" Oil on Canvas Click HERE for pricing. Visit http://deannajaugstetter.com to view more of my work
A plein air painting, "From Within", an oil landscape painting with architecture describes the intention for this painting. I had listened to another painter from Provence, France, speak of painting from your soul. As I stood on this path,I was letting my brush be guided by my sense of the place, the sun light coming from the back of the windows, the shadow falling over the path. Do you find yourself on the path, also? 12"x16" Oil on Canvas/sold
This little cardinal hasn't missed a meal! His crimson feathered plump body can be seen from a distance! For a lover of the color red, birds, and snowfall, this is a special gift in an otherwise humdrum day!

Bruges Canal III is inspired by recent photos taken in this beautiful city of Bruges, Belgium! As an artist, I am always looking for contrast; shadows give me what I am looking for! In addition to loving this old structure, the play of light is a painters dream! The inspiration for "Morning Shadows" came from childhood experiences such as playing in the midst of a huge field of grass, lying on the ground making images out of clouds, and trees awash with color in the autumn of the year. This watercolor painting on paper is double matted and beautifully custom framed!
There are times that I work on a painting, call if finished, put it out there, and then it keeps calling to me! "Blue Obsession" a still life oil painting is one of these works. I can now walk into my studio, and happily paint away , feeling confident about it's completion!
I will forever remember standing in the garden at Giverny imagining where Claude Monet stood painting this same scene. "My Monet", an oil landscape painting of the gardens of the French Impressionist is seen through my eyes.
I have incorporated thicker areas of paint with a palette knife.

Having a background in interior design, the way the light falls on objects in a space always draws my attention. The lamplight reflected off the tabletop, flowers, and tray inspired this interior oil painting titled "I'll Leave The Light On". A comfortable chair, flowers from a friend, these bring good thoughts!
Experiencing the Eiffel Tower from a dinner cruise boat at night is a must for any visitor to Paris! The meal was quite good and being able to go up onto the upper deck of the boat and view this beautiful site is amazing! Thus, the title for this Parisian Oil painting on stretched canvas is simply "Unforgettable Eiffel". Email me at the website for shipping charges.
Montmartre is an exciting area of Paris, France. This incredibly beautiful Roman Catholic Cathedral towers above the city. One can see the rooftops of Paris and the Eiffel Tower from it's courtyard. On the weekends artists gather in the square, vendors sell Parisian cuisine, and sidewalk cafes are abuzz with conversation. "Basilique de Sacre' Coeur de Montmartre" is a Parisian landscape painting on stretched canvas.
I enjoy painting the same subject matter in different mediums. Often the first painting will be done in watercolor, a fresh and spontaneous medium. Elegant Herb Study is for the viewer who loves soft transparent paintings!
A trip to meet my daughter for lunch off Interstate 20 gifted me with not only time with her but also a unexpected photography opportunity! While the sweet donkey nudged Chrissy through the barbed wire fence, I was able to enjoy the country scenery and several horses on the fenced in property! Look for more beautiful equine paintings inspired by the beautiful sunny day enjoying these horses! "Three's Company" is an oil equine landscape painting on canvas just waiting for a welcoming home!
Photographing the scenery along country roads is always scheduled in my itinerary when traveling to my home state of North Carolina! There are rustic and romantic vistas, charming homesites , and farm animals in the fields! Even the two lane roads have a charming way of winding through the countryside! As I travel around Atlanta, I pretty much see 7 or more lanes of traffic as I go about my day! "Midday In Ironduff" , an oil landscape painting describes my response to this countryside residence situated on a huge tract of farmland. Can you just see the owners of the property climbing the hill for a home grown supper!
Painting en plein air is a wonderful challenge! In searching for a subject to paint while in Olmsted Park in Decatur, Georgia I was inspired by the bits of light bouncing around in the shadows of this beautiful setting! "Out of The Shadows" is a landscape / architectural oil painting on a linen panel.
Recently, I painted with a nationally known oil painter in the mountains of north Georgia, my home state. The weather was gloomy in the mornings but the sun came out in the late afternoon to light this delightful dirt path whose shadows caught my eye. Let's Take A Walk, a small oil landscape painting is a result of this long winding path with a distant range of mountains!
I had convinced a good artist friend to go to the Chattahoochee Riverbank to paint late one evening last week! It was a mild summer evening, so here we go with easel, backpack, and tripod in hand! We had a wonderful time painting beside the water looking out at these reflections and imagining how we were ever going to describe the many beautiful colors in the water! My interpretation of the events is this small landscape oil painting named appropriately " Riverbank Reflections" .
Tuscan Skies are much like our Georgia skies but with a view like no other! Villa Fontelunga is a dream of a place to spend afternoons at the end of a day trip to Florence, Italy! I choose this particular view of the Tuscan landscape overlooking the cabana where we spent several evenings by the crackling fire, enjoying comraderie and delicious Italian wines.
Cats are some of my favorite animals. Ours have always been inside cats only and have been good friends to us. Once in a while I get the urge to paint these furry little friends. "All Afternoon Nap" is a feline watercolor painting of a cat named Dolly.

Marty Robbins had a huge hit song in 1957 titled "A White Sport Coat". The popular hit record came to mind while I was painting these lovely little carnations! Marty sang about a white sport coat and a pink carnation; I am humming this song in my mind as I write! "Pink Carnation" is an oil floral still life painting done from life in my studio. Having always been one of my favorite flowers, don't you agree that these compact bloomers smell just so sweet!!!
A Day At The Pool" is a landscape and domestic animal painting inspired by my photo session in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Where else would you find an old iron tub out back where the chickens roost! Rural scenes such as this always make me smile!
