Julia grew up on a dairy farm in South Carolina. The painting, Julia's Homestead is a special reminder of all the memories of living in this childhood home in rural South Carolina! The oil painting on canvas hangs in a guest room for family members to enjoy while visiting her home in Georgia! The details of the painting are a collaboration between family members as a special way of being involved in the painting process!
"Terracotta" is homage to one of the most favored containers for a beautiful garden! Having just returned from a fabulous watercolor instructors' workshop, I was anxious to paint a new watercolor painting using all my new found insight into this medium. There is aways so much more that we artists can learn from each other!
I grew up with a love for birds! Filling up the birdfeeder, watching them come and go from the birdfeeder and birdhouses, running to get my camera, are everyday activities! "Singing the Blues" is a wildlife oil painting of the Eastern Blue Bird often seen in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
It's that time of year again when painting "en plein air" is so enjoyable! A recent plein air outing gave me the opportunity to capture this fly fisherman at the Chattahoochee River. "Chattahoochee Fly Fishing" is a figure in landscape oil painting.
When I created the still life of calla lilies in my art studio, I was pleased with the arrangement of the lilies but knew I had to have some feature in the acrylic painting to counterbalance the natural orientation of flowers whose stem is unable to hold them upright! The yellow satin ribbon adds to the playfulness of the arrangement!

I enjoy painting the same subject matter in different mediums. Often the first painting will be done in watercolor, a fresh and spontaneous medium. Elegant Herb Study is for the viewer who loves soft transparent paintings!
Atlanta has several parks designed by an architect name Olmsted. I have recently enjoyed painting in this beautiful setting of giant trees and winding paths. "Olmsted Park" is an oil landscape painting inspired by scene I saw on a recent plein air outing. The pattern of light bouncing off the tops of the parked cars through the plantings caught my eye and I had my painting!
Little boys are so special and their shoes get a lot of wear and tear! These little brown lace ups tell tales of climbing, bumping, and having fun! "Lace Ups" is a small oil still life painting beautifully custom framed to compliment any wall color or room decor!
