"Castello Banfi" Original Water Color Landscape Painting by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Castello Banfi is an Italian wine estate of 7,100 acres planted just 20 years ago. My husband and I had the pleasure of dining there on a trip to the Tuscany region of Italy. It's acreage is massive and lush, offering me easy visualization of this painting. Always enticed by old stone structures, I set to work to give you an idea of what you are missing by not traveling to Italy!

"Comaraderie" Original Watercolor Painting by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Comaraderie is about relationship between old friends in Italy. Spending the afternoon beneath the trees, watching passerbys is not often enjoyed by most U.S. citizens. Because I was charmed by witnessed these men's sharing of their time, I wanted to record the moment in a watercolor painting.

"Flag of Italy" Original Watercolor Landscape Painting by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

While riding on the streets of Rome, Italy, I spotted the blazing color of the tree , and the colorful flag flying outside what may have been a bedroom window. This is the way many Roman city residents have their being. Something makes me think that inside these walls there is celebration, laughter, and good food to be enjoyed! What story do you hear being told in this watercolor painting?

"Morning Shadows" Original Watercolor Landscape Painting by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

As an artist, I am always looking for contrast; shadows give me what I am looking for! In addition to loving this old structure, the play of light is a painters dream! The inspiration for "Morning Shadows" came from childhood experiences such as playing in the midst of a huge field of grass, lying on the ground making images out of clouds, and trees awash with color in the autumn of the year.

"Tuscan Skies" Original Watercolor Landscape Painting by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Tuscan Skies are much like our Georgia skies but with a view like no other! Villa Fontelunga is a dream of a place to spend afternoons at the end of a day trip to Florence, Italy! I choose this particular view of the Tuscan landscape overlooking the cabana where we spent several evenings by the crackling fire, enjoying comraderie and delicious Italian wines.

"Best Friends" Original Watercolor Truck Painting by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

These two old trucks stay parked alongside each other on the gravel path having taken care of their owners needs over the years. The nostalgia of the scene is what drew me in and made me want to capture it all in a watercolor painting. Maybe you have an old truck like these "Best Friends" that needs immortalizing!

                                                 22"x15" Watercolor on Canvas/Available

Many years ago on my first visit to Paris, France my husband and I enjoyed the instrumental sounds of this small symphony while shopping at an upscale area of the city. The treasure that came from this shopping excursion was this experience. I have painted in the medium of watercolor, my version of the experience for your enjoyment. As in many of my paintings, "Sidewalk Symphony" is about pattern of light and the gestures of the musicians.

Autumn of the year is harvesting time! My family and I always love to venture outdoors to enjoy the colorful bounty seen this time of year! Seeing the old porch scene, pumpkins, and rough hewn wood, reminds me of my childhood growing up in the mountains of North Carolina! My inspiration for "The Gathering" came from fond memories and from several tubes of watercolor paint!

"City Hall" is a centuries old building in Brugge, Belgium that stands in Market Square. The flooring is covered with cobblestones and the architecture is really so magnificent it is hard to describe without watercolor and the paint brush! I enjoyed seeing the people buzzing about the square and I describe the misty day scene in Brugge III

Shrimpin at Gay Seafood by Deanna Jaugstetter

10" x 10" Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
NFS
"Shrimpin at Gay Seafood" is inspired by a late afternoon walk among the shrimp boats on Fripp Island in South Carolina. This particular shrimp boat caught my attention because of the beautiful texture and color it has acquired over the many years of exposure to the elements. It has always been said that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". Plein Air on Azalea Drive by Deanna Jaugstetter

Plein Air on Azalea Drive
14" x 11" Oil on Panel
Plein Air painting uses all the artists skills as she sets up an easel outside and finds the most exciting patterns of light and color that are surrounding her. There are many decisions to be made before the paint touches the canvas! My decision to have my subject backlit and the time of day I was viewing my subject determined my palette of colors to be used in " Plein Air on Azalea Drive". If you love the feel of this painting, it can be in your home in just a few days!

Wysteria

Springtime in the south brings lush clusters of violet hued wysteria blooms hanging from climbing vines. The wysteria vines attach themselves to trees and are seen alongside expressways and in southern gardens. I look forward to the view from my kitchen door to such as this!

Calcatta Villa

This summer while in Rome we visited a village 450Ft.above ground called Calcatta.Only 20 artisans live there and the view is breathtaking! I have painted two oils from this village already and I am inspired to paint more! "Calcatta Villa" is a commissioned painting and I am posting this painting in progress. If one can see the painter's process he can better understand how a work evolves.
