Georgia Winter Landscape Painting "Backyard Snow II" Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Outside my studio windows the late afternoon light comes from the west. Atlanta happened to have a rare occurrence of a snowfall which was wooing me into the studio! It was very therapeutic sitting at my drafting table describing with watercolor this beautiful dance of light over the snow and tree trunks.

Brugge Architecture, Window Box, Flowers "A Sneak Peek" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

"A Sneak Peek", an oil painting of geraniums is inspired by a photo I took and by a view from my studio window. The painting is so named because I had snuck or sneaked over to my neighbor's driveway recently to get closer to this beautiful pot of geraniums! Lo and Behold, my neighbor returns home and finds me there in her driveway. We had a good laugh and I returned home so happy with my photographs!

Please note, this painting is framed with an off white Deanna Original Frame and is sold only with frame. Photos of framed painting are available by emailing me.

Original Georgia Landscape Oil Painting "Blue Heron Nature Preserve" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

The idea for "Blue Heron Nature Preserve" , a small oil landscape painting of on canvas came from a plein air outing this summer. Blue Heron Nature Preserve is tucked back in a wooded area on the way to Buckhead, an area outside the city of Atlanta, Georgia. While in this beautiful location, I had focused my attention on the colors in the water's reflections! After getting the basic shapes down while there, the painting was completed here in my studio. Camaraderie is about relationship between old friends in Italy. Spending the afternoon beneath the trees, watching passersby is not often enjoyed by most U.S. citizens. Because I was charmed by witnessed these men's sharing of their time, I wanted to record the moment in a watercolor painting.

North Carolina Landscape Oil Painting "Midday In Ironduff" by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

Photographing the scenery along country roads is always scheduled in my itinerary when traveling to my home state of North Carolina! There are rustic and romantic vistas, charming homesites , and farm animals in the fields! Even the two lane roads have a charming way of winding through the countryside! As  I travel around Atlanta, I pretty much see 7 or more lanes of traffic as I go about my day! "Midday In Ironduff" , an oil landscape painting describes my response to this countryside residence situated on a huge tract of farmland. Can you just see the owners of the property climbing the hill for a home grown supper!

WORDS THAT INSPIRE ME

Being in a new workshop where meditation and my painting space are supportive in the creative process! Displaying words that inspire me help me to focus on the joy of painting! We could all use positive reinforcement whatever the day brings! Today,I am sharing with you in on my painting of one of my favorite quotes! It is a true reflection of my personality!

"Riverbank Reflections" Original Oil Painting of the Chattahoochee Riverbank by Georgia Artist Deanna Jaugstetter

I had convinced a good artist friend to go to the Chattahoochee Riverbank to paint late one evening last week! It was a mild summer evening, so here we go with easel, backpack, and tripod in hand! We had a wonderful time painting beside the water looking out at these reflections and imagining how we were ever going to describe the many beautiful colors in the water! My interpretation of the events is this small landscape oil painting named appropriately " Riverbank Reflections" .
